Montgomery Gentry Member, Eddie Montgomery, Suffers From Son’s Death

Montgomery Gentry member, Eddie Montgomery, announced the death of his son on Sunday, after an accident.

The country music singer, did not reveal details into the accident, but released a statement, through Montgomery Gentry social media, notifying fans of his loss.

“Unfortunately, we have to fill you in on more heartbreaking news this morning from the Montgomery Gentry family,” the statement said. “Our sincerest love, thoughts and prayers are with Eddie and his family today.”

The statement included some information explaining the loss of Montgomery’s son, Hunter, “Nashville, TN (September 27, 2015) –Eddie Montgomery, one-half of the award-winning duo Montgomery Gentry, lost his son Hunter today after an accident that had the 19-year-old on life support in a Kentucky hospital.”

Last August, Hunter proposed to his girlfriend at one of his dad’s concerts, where she said yes, according to a video from Dan Van Media.

Eddie Montgomery has been through a fair share of trials these past few years. In 2010 he revealed he had been diagnosed with prostate cancer, and in January 2014, he filed for personal bankruptcy, due to debt from a failed restaurant venture and a previous divorce. But in April of the same year, he married his girlfriend, Jennifer Belcher.

Now Montogomery suffers from the loss of his son.

“My son Hunter went to heaven today,” Eddie Montgomery said in a statement. “I appreciate all your prayers and love and thank you for giving us privacy as we grieve and say goodbye.”

According to the statement, Hunter’s funeral arrangements are still pending.
