New York City Marathon: Mary Keitany Wins Women’s Race

In the closest race ever in the women’s division, Mary was crowned the women’s winner.

Mary Keitany crossed the finish line of the 26.2 New York City Marathon.

On Nov. 2 the Kenyan runner finished the 26.2 mile race around New York City’s five boroughs in 2 hours, 25 minutes and 7 seconds.

Mary previously won the 2012 London Marathon, wow !

This was the closest race ever for the New York City Marathon women’s race. Mary and Jemima Sumgong were neck and neck until the very end.

The New York City Marathon is the world’s biggest and most popular marathon race. The 2014 marathon kicked off today and only two were crowned winners.

Congratulations to both winners of the marathon today !
