A video of Josh Duggar that was shown back in 2008 (when there were still ‘17 kids and counting’) has resurfaced, and what was at first mildly uncomfortable may now be seriously disturbing.
The video shows Josh discussing his chaperoned date to the movies with his then-fiancée, Anna. He points out that originally, his sister Jinger Duggar was supposed to chaperone his date, but her young age prohibited her from going to a film for ages 18 and older.
Josh then states that he chose his siblings Jana and John David Duggar to chaperone instead, because, “why not have a double-date?”
Then, the video cuts to Josh laughing along with somebody behind the camera as he says, “we are from Arkansas!”
It seems like Josh only says this in response to what a camera-man may have said (during the cut footage) about his word choice, but instead of blushing and correcting himself, he makes a rather cringe-worthy joke.
That line about being from Arkansas, which jokingly implies an incestuous relationship, sparked outrage on the Internet as the revisited video is now going viral.
Recently, it has been revealed that when Josh was a teenager, he sexually molested five young girls, four of whom were reportedly his own sisters. With those allegations in the minds of many (combined with several other controversies involving the Duggar family, including issues of homophobia and certain pro-life posts on social media), this video may be the final nail in the coffin for 19 Kids and Counting.
Currently, the show has been removed from the TLC schedule, but the network has not officially canceled the series.
