Famous singer of the song ‘Ignition’, R. Kelly, has been accused by parents of holding their daughters in a ‘controlled’ sex cult. Three people that were once members of his inner circle have reportedly agreed with these claims.
A Buzzfeed exposé reported that three parents came forward with claims that Kelly brainwashed their daughters.
One woman, who’s daughter is an aspiring musician, spoke of the situation.
“She looked like a prisoner — it was horrible. I hugged her and hugged her. But she just kept saying she’s in love and Kelly is the one who cares for her.”
The woman’s daughter met R. Kelly when she was 19 and discussed her music career with the singer.
The R&B singer apparently gets the females to call him ‘Daddy’ and they are referred to as his ‘babies’. He controls every bit of their lives, from what they wear to what they eat.
And they are forbidden to be friendly towards other men, according to the ex-members. One former member said that Kelly got physically abusive towards her in 2013 outside a Subway sandwich shop. This was because she “had been too friendly with the male cashier”.
However, R. Kelly cannot be charged with any unlawful conduct, despite how concerned these parents are.
Buzzfeed reporter Jim DeRogatis spoke of the situation.
“The law says that consenting adults may take part in any relationship they want, no matter how nontraditional.”
To make things worse, the youngest of the members is apparently 18, which makes all the members legal.
