Pitbull is definitely NOT a Donald Trump fan. The Cuban rapper used his acceptance speech for Best Urban Artist at Univision’s ‘Premios Juventud’ (just a reminder—they were that first network that dropped Trump’s Miss USA Pageant after his comments) to give a message to the 2016 presidential candidate.
“I’m not a politician, I’m a musician, but most of all I’m Latino,” the rapper old the crowd in Spanish. “I support our people. And I want to tell Marco Rubio, step it up! Jeb Bush, step up your game! Hillary Clinton, step it up! Because Donald Trump cannot be president! For all the Latinos out there, keep your heads up!”
The speech is not the first time Pitbull has made his views of Trump clear to the public. During a recent interview with Fusion’s America with Jorge Ramos, the 34-year-old Miami native said he feels that Trump is “far from ignorant.”
“Donald Trump doesn’t become Donald Trump by being ignorant,” Pitbull told Ramos. “He may have a big ego—we’ve all known that for years. What I think is that he found a button that he likes, and he sees that he got people mad and hot and he’s gonna keep pushing it.”
Pitbull went on to say that he must stand by his culture at this time, and doing so includes not staying at any Trump hotels, “Due to what’s been said, I wouldn’t be able to [stay at a Trump hotel]. I can’t, just for the simple fact that you’re talking about a culture that I ride, I die for. This culture is the only reason I’m having this conversation right now.”
