President Donald Trump announced on Friday that he would “100%” testify under oath about his conversations with ex FBI director James Comey.
Trump spoke at a joint press conference with Romanian President Klaus Iohannis in the Rose Garden. As he already mentioned on Twitter early Friday, he repeated that Comey was a “leaker” and that he “lied” and “gave false statements”.
Trump said that Comey lied under oath about the president asking him to drop the investigation into Michael Flynn.
Flynn was the former National Security Advisor. Trump also said he didn’t ask James Comey for a loyalty pledge.
“Who would ask a man to pledge allegiance under oath?,” he asked.
When asked upon whether we would see tapes of the Comey meeting, he said that we will be disappointed with the answer in the near future.
The president said he would testify if asked to do so by special counsel Robert Mueller.
