Earlier this week iconic singer Prince announced that he would be performing a special “Rally 4 Peace” Concert at the Royal Farms Arena in Baltimore a portion of the concert’s proceeds will go toward local Baltimore based youth charities. Ahead of the concert, Prince released a new song titled “Baltimore.”

The song has a rock-funk feel and was a response to the recent events that have occurred not only in Baltimore, but across the country. The song references other events like the killing of Michael Brown who was an unarmed black teen killed in Ferguson last summer by a white police officer which also sparked protests. It also includes lyrics like “Are we gonna see another bloody day?” “We’re tired of cryin’ and people dyin’” and “Let’s take the guns away.”

Prince recorded the song earlier this month and it is now on his Souncloud, his show will stream live on music service Tidal.
