What’s My Name? Apparently a gas station attendant knew who he was.

According to reports, the accuser is a 21-year-old man who said he recognized the “Party Up (Up in Here)” artist at an Exxon station in Newark, New Jersey just after midnight, after which he struck up a conversation with him about music; a member of his entourage then pulled a gun, and the group stole $3,200 in cash from the man. The victim gave up the money and apparently follow them to their car and got the license plate.

DMX has been in trouble with the law before. Charges include resisting arrest, drug possession, animal cruelty and reckless driving. He served a prison sentence in Arizona in 2010.

Police are still investigating the matter.
