British crooner, Sam Smith is not happy about his performance at the 88th Annual Academy Awards, and not to mention he’s not very happy about the reaction his victory got from other celebs on social media. Here’s why.
So, Smith performed his Oscar winning song “Writings on the Wall,” and his voice was great, but allegedly he thought he sounded horrible!
Smith took the matter to Twitter to say, “I’m logging off for a while. Some Martinis shaken not stirred are definitely in order.” Heh, drinking reference.
But, who and what caused the stirring?!
Well, when Smith received his award he openly spoke out about how overjoyed he as to be the first openly gay male to win an Academy Award, big deal eh? So, that’s when the drama started, and screenwriter Dustin Lance Black chimed in to throw shade at Smith on Twitter, reminding him that he took home an Oscar for his best original screenplay “Milk” back in 2009.
Smith apologized to Black and wrote, “So hungover. genuinely feels like a dream. Second openly gay man to win an oscar or third or fourth or 100th, It wasn’t my point … My point was to shine some light on the LGBT community who i love so dearly. … Apologies for the mix up @DLanceBlack I’ll be sure to check out your films now x Belated Congrats on the Oscar x.”
Well said Sam, well said
