It’s like we’re looking into the future… maybe because we are. Samsung recently introduced a 55-inch transparent and mirror OLED display in Hong Kong. The company has been working with transparent screens for awhile now, but they call these displays a first for their industry. We’re getting pretty excited over here.

While the company didn’t talk pricing at the convention in China, it seems clear that the prices will be high. They pitched the models as “digital signage,” which normally suggests high prices.

One cool thing that these displays can do is create something like a virtual fitting room. The person just has to stand in front of the screen, and the device will reflect images of clothes, jewelry, and other accessories onto the person, like they’re really being worn. This sounds futuristic, but it’s the present. Isn’t that crazy to think about?

Here at The Hot Zone, we’re keeping an eye out for all the latest technology.
