In an interview with Glamour Magazine, Miss Congeniality actress let loose, discussing everything from Gravity co-star George Clooney to acting decisions, but what stood out most about the interview was her concerns regarding raising her son, Louis Bardo Bullock.

Bullock adopted Louis, a little black boy, from New Orleans back in 2006 while still married to her ex-husband Jesse James. Though she is now dating model Bryan Randall, Bullock credits Louis with helping her get her act together, saying that she feels like she just truly became an adult five years ago.

Reminiscing on her troubled past, Bullock told Glamour that she had to step back and realize that Louis was “the greatest gift…I’m gonna let him see the woman I want him to know,” she said.

Bullock also wants to ensure that her gift stays safe, particularly in the midst of the danger that black people in America continue to face day in and day out.

“I want my son to be safe. I want my son to be judged for the man he is. We are at a point now where if we don’t do something we will have destroyed what so many amazing people have done,” she said referencing how far we have come since Civil Rights.

Though only five years old, Bullock can’t help but have a watchful and hopeful eye on the future despite her fears.

“If I could ride in a bubble with him for the rest of his life, I would. But I can’t.”

Bullock seems to have really taken motherhood by the reins and though it can be challenging and life can be complicated, she is obviously enjoying it. So much in fact that she is allegedly in the process of finalizing her second adoption of a baby girl!

You go momma Bullock, and good luck with all your future acting endeavors and journeys through parenthood. Enjoy the beautiful and miraculous ride.
