On Tuesday, June 30, 2015, the State Department released the first 3,000 pages in a series of 55,000 documents that Hillary Clinton turned over to the State last year.
Clinton’s emails have been under investigation since the revelation in April that she had secretly stored her messages during the four years she was secretary of state.
The released pages describe shocking incidents. Some describe ordinary meeting recaps and others portray her asking for iced tea or other minor needs. ‘Pls call Sarah and ask her if she can get me some iced tea,’ one message read.
Clinton also refers to a persona as “Santa,” who is anonymous on Clinton’s meeting schedule. She once wrote, “I’m seeing Santa at 8:30, so won’t take off until closer to 9:30,” to her deputy chief of staff Huma Abedin six months after taking office
However, even as Clinton’s secret email account shocked many in the D.C. beltway, many of the State’s most influential and powerful Democrats were already a part of it.
So far, the only missing factor in this series of emails, is any evidence of misconduct in the Benghazi saga.
