The top theater chains in the U.S. , Regal Entertainment, AMC Entertainment, Cinemark, Carmike Cinemas and Cineplex Entertainment, decided to cancel all showings of The Interview from all of their locations.
The controversial film, starring Seth Rogen and James Franco, shows characters trying to assassinate North Korean dictator Kim Jong-Un. Reportedly, the hackers of Sony Pictures’ emails and files threatened the company with possible terrorist attacks at theaters set to release the film on December 25. Cedar-Lee Theatre and Tower City Cinemas has not made a decision yet. The official press screening for The Interview in the Cleveland market was also cancelled.
