Just this morning the Indiana home of Subway spokesman,Jared Fogle, was raided by federal authorities who surrounded the house. The agents could be seen taking electronics from Fogle’s home and into a truck as part of a criminal investigation. The reason for the inspection is reported to be Fogle’s previous involvement with Russell Taylor, who was arrested on child pornography charges back in April.
Taylor was the former executive director of Fogle’s non-profit organization called The Jared Foundation, which raises awareness for child obesity. Taylor was arrested after a woman he had been exchanging emails with, informed authorities that he had wanted to share pornogrpahic images with her. He was brought up on seven counts of production of child pornogprahy and one count of possession. Taylor attempted to commit suicide in his Marion County Jail cell in May, but he survived and has improved since then.
Fogle, who became the face of the sandwich chain after losing more than 200 pounds due to his Subway diet, was shocked by the allegations and proceeded to cut all ties with his former executive director. Fogle has yet to comment on the investigation that took place in his home, but it appears this is directly linked to the Taylor incident.
