The NFL Super Bowl 50 half time performance was epic and legendary. The acts included Cold Play, Bruno Mars and of course the Queen Bee herself Beyonce!
Cold play opened the show with an amazing performance where Chris Martin belted out Coldplay’s greatest hits, followed by Bruno Mars who tore up the stage with his hit song ‘Uptown Funk’. Lastly Beyonce slayed her performance with her new viral hit “Formation” which had a political undertone that payed homage to the Black Panthers a 60’s political group that fought to correct racial injustice.
Beyonce’s back up dancers wore similar accessories worn by the Panthers. They held their fists up similar to the Panther’s symbolism, but they also went as far as to pose with a sign that read “Justice for Mario Woods” the man who was shot and killed in San Francisco by cops. The dancers also got into an “X” formation to symbolize Malcolm X.
Tina Knowles also got in on the action by posing with the dancers with their fists raised up high.
Beyonce’s symbolism’s didn’t end there. She also managed to pay homage to the late Micheal Jackson by wearing a similar gold X chest metal strap on her chest.
Another performance highlight was Jay Z and Gwyneth Paltrow who watched their spouses perform during half time. Their excitement was obvious from their private view. Blue Ivy, whose made an appearance on Beyonce’s “Formation” video was also watching her mother perform.
The night was an amazing night not just for the Denver Broncos but for the performers as well.
Beyonce was also given 10,000 roses before her performance from husband Jay Z.
