Super Bowl XLIX will go down in history as one of the best Super Bowls to take place.
Sure it started slow in the first half but in the second half, all bets were off. The New England Patriots beat the Seattle Seahawks by the final score of 28-24. The last six minutes of the game was pure insanity. The Patriots (15-4) had to survive a last-ditch drive by the Seahawks (14-5), who got to the 1, helped by a spectacular juggling catch by Jermaine Kearse. Then Malcolm Butler stepped in front of Ricardo Lockette to pick off Russell Wilson’s pass and complete one of the wildest Super Bowl finishes.
Tom Brady went 37 for 50 for 328 yards against the NFL’s top-ranked defense and was the MVP of the Super Bowl. However, the most controversial call happened during Seattle’s last drive of the game. For some unknown reason, the Seahawks decided to pass at the goal line. Why didn’t they run with Marshawn Lynch?
With that mistake, the Seahawks just blew their chance at a second straight Super Bowl championship and Tom Brady won his fourth ring.
Congratulations to the Patriots!
