Most people would agree that the most fickle fans are comic book fans. Well, there is no exception when it comes to the new movie Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, hitting theaters August 8, 2014. It has widely become one of the most anticipated movies of the year.
Yesterday, Paramount and Nickelodeon Movies released the second trailer for the movie. In this new trailer, we see much of the previous trailer although we do see something every fan has been eagerly waiting for… a shot of their individual faces. Fans are finally given a good look at the superheroes. There is even a skateboarding shot thrown in there. To everyone’s disappointment, no pizza shot yet. Guess we have to wait for that one. Let’s not forget about the sneak peak of sensei Splinter!
The most exciting thing about the reboot of these classic superheroes is the Computer Generated Imagery. The turtles are brought to life by real actors via motion capture performances. From the first trailer, there were many qualms of exactly how realistic the turtles would look. With this new trailer filmmakers have put a rest to those qualms. There is a major improvement from the first trailer. Some people had to be working night and day to finally achieve the progress they have.
Filmmakers have brought on the well-known producer Michael Bay (Transformers) onto the project. If that was not enough to make a good film, directing the movie is Jonathan Liebesman (Wrath of the Titans and Battle Los Angeles).
The film will star Megan Fox as April O’Neil, Alan Ritchson as Raphael, William Fitchner as The Shredder, Whoppi Goldberg as Bernadette Thompson, Jeremy Howard as Donatello, Pete Ploszek as Leonardo, and Danny Woodnburn as Splinter. Johnny Knoxville and Tony Shaloub, who did the voice work for Leonardo and Splinter have been replaced. It is not certain if others will be replaced too, although there are new voices in the second trailer.
Be sure to go check out Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles this August 8, 2014. It will also be in 3D. It seems worth a go.
