Families of the victims of the terror attacks on Spain have been searching for their loved ones on Friday after the death toll rose to 14 and those injured to 130.
The first victims have been identified. Seven-year-old Julian Cadman, who lived in Australia, was named as missing by his cousin while his mother Jom is in a serious condition in hospital, as reported by Spanish authorities.
Not knowing where his son is or if he is alive, father Andrew is flying from Australia to look for him.
The first named as being killed by the ISIS terror attack in Las Ramblas on Thursday were Bruno Gulotta and Luca Russo from Italy, Elke Vanbockrijck from Belgium and Lopez Rodriguez from Spain. A three-year-old, from Spain, was also killed.
Gulotta walked along holding his five-year-old son’s hand during the attacks. He kneeled down over his son and seven-month-old daughter to shield them from the van, stated his wife Martina. This is when he died.
Mr. Rodriguez was hit by the terrorist’s van, and died instantly.
Heidi Nunes, from California, appealed for information about her husband Jared Tucker who went missing during the incident while shopping.
17 people have been reported as ‘critical’ while 30 are in a serious condition.
Brtitish Prime Minister Theresa May commented on the attack, confirming that British people were caught up in it and that authorities are “urgently looking into reports” of a dual-nationality child missing in Spain.
May did not state whether any British people were among those missing or dead.
Police shot and killed the five suspects as they exited the car on Thursday, and four people have now been arrested. None of those arrested were the driver of the van.
Authorities are looking for Moussa Oukabir, who is 18-years old from Morocco. His older brother, Oukabir Driss handed himself in on Thursday because the van was rented in his name. An investigation is being held to see if Moussa Oukabir used his brother’s identity to rent the vehicle.
Another attack occurred in Cambrils where police shot dead five people wearing fake bomb belts who mowed down people with a car. One woman was killed and six injured. Among those injured was a police officer.
On Friday, thousands of people, including King Felipe VI came together in Place Cataluna in Barcelona’s center for a moment of silence.
