Christian Taylor, a student at Angelo State University, was gunned down by Officer Brad Miller, at the Classic Buick GMC building in Arlington, Texas, at around 1 a.m. Police say they were responding to a burglary and the college football player reportedly drove through an SUV dealership metal gate, before exiting the vehicle, and damaging a car in the parking lot, leading the firm’s security company to call the authorities.

Taylor then allegedly climbed back into the SUV and drove through the showroom glass.  Police who responded to the 911 call confronted the 19 year old inside the dealership, according to police spokesman Sgt. Paul Rodriguez.  However, an “altercation” occurred between the officers and Taylor, which led to Miller discharging his weapon.

When the incident happened, Taylor didn’t possess any weapons. Taylor was unfortunately declared dead at the scene at 1:47 a.m. Surveillance video showed a man vandalizing a car outside the store and it seems that the person was Taylor. Rodriguez said Miller has been put on administrative leave, which is “standard” for any officer involved in a “deadly force situation”.
