Were you one of the thousands of people who lined Fifth Avenue in New York City on Sunday, June 14, 2015, to express your Puerto Rican pride?
The event involved 20,000 marchers who headed up Fifth Avenue from 44th to 79th streets. It is a parade that is representative of Puerto Rican pride, which showcased Puerto Rican music, dancing, singing, and lots of Puerto Rican flags!
The celebration also incorporated marching bands, beauty queens, cars, floats, and even politicians.
Mayor Bill de Blasio made an appearance, and he said that he could not imagine New York without its Puerto Rican population.
“This is a community that over the last century has been one of the foundations of this city,” de Blasio said.
