What happens in the dark must come to the light. Or in this case what happens in celebrities private lives must blow up in public.

Days after the footage of the dispute between Jay Z and Solange in the elevator a new report from E! News is out claiming they know the truth. According to the report the argument was allegedly over designer Rachel Roy. She is also the wife of Jay Z’s former business partner Damon Dash. The feud began when Roy started getting a little too close to the 44-year-old rapper at a Met Gala after party.

A source says, “At the gala, Rachel was being flirtatious with Jay, once everyone was at the Boom Boom Room for the after-party, her flirtations were elevated.”

The flirtation did not sit well with Beyoncé, shortly after she confronted the designer.  That is where Solange stepped in. “Beyoncé approached Rachel to let her know the behavior was disrespectful and she wanted her out of their lives for good, Solange came over to have her sister’s back, and things got heated with her and Rachel,” a source says.

The same source also said, “Jay said some disrespectful things to Beyoncé and Solange as the confrontation was going down. That’s why all hell broke loose in the elevator and why Beyoncé just stood back and let Solange hit Jay.” Jay Z may not have been the smartest man that night in my opinion. Rule of marriage number one: You always take your wife’s side if she’s in an argument.

Jay Z’s involvement in the confrontation is not really what escalated it further; it was taking the wrong side that made things worse. What happened next was history, we all know about the infamous elevator ride. If this report is indeed true, we can now see why Beyoncé did not get involved. Any normal wife would be hurt if her husband was flirting with another woman in plain sight.
