Music theatre junkies get excited because finally, here’s a trailer for the movie musical “The Last 5 years”.

Anna Kendrick, soon to be seen singing in the musical film “Into The Woods” and Jeremy Jordan are falling in and out of love all the while singing their hearts out in the trailer for “The Last 5 Years”. 

The trailer is almost entirely showing all the samples of the film’s musical numbers, beginning with the heartbreaking opening song “Still Hurting.” As that song indicates, The Last 5 Years isn’t an entirely uplifting love story, despite its pre-Valentine’s Day release date.

Jason Robert Brown’s musical follows the relationship between Cathy (Kendrick) and Jamie (Jordan), and while Cathy’s portion of the story is told backwards, from its end to its beginning, Jamie’s is told in the reverse. So it’s a bit more complicated than you might expect.

The film is due out Feb. 13, and the true musical theater nerds will be happy to notice a cameo from Brown himself around the trailer’s 1:15 minute mark.
