Who would have thought, that 21 years later after O.J Simpson was found not guilty, the knife which was in question during his trail would somehow resurrect itself during a demolition. A construction worker who was working on the Simpson compound, claimed that he had found a knife on the property. He gave the knife to a retired officer who later turned it over to the LAPD. The knife is currently being examined for forensics, including DNA and hair.
The knife in question was mentioned during O.J’s trail as the murder weapon he allegedly used to kill his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ronald Goldman. The weapon used in the two stabbing deaths was described as a long, serrated knife which was never found during the time of the trial.
During the murder trial Allen Wattenberg, testified that his employee sold Simpson a 15-inch stiletto knife on May 3, 1994. He said Simpson asked that the knife be sharpened. It is reported that Prosecution witness Dr. Lakshmanan Sathyavagiswaran told the jury that he believed the killings were done with a single-edged knife, however, during cross-examination the doctor said he could not be positive that the knife had killed both Nicole and Ronald.
It’s ironic that this discovery was made during the screening of the highly rated FX Series “American Crime Story: The People Vs. O.J Simpson” which is based on O.J Simpson’s murder infamous trial.
As we watch the series, we will sit and wait to see if this newly dicovered knife is in fact the mysterious murder weapon. The saga continues…
