President Donald Trump’s State visit to the United Kingdom has been canceled for the foreseeable future by the Queen.
The news came on Wednesday by the Queen’s Speech, an event that is held when a new government enters Parliament.
The speech usually discusses incoming administration and planned visits. But, this year, Queen Elizabeth only discussed the upcoming visit of the Spanish royal family.
Mr. Trump was invited a week after his inauguration to visit the U.K. by Prime Minister Theresa May. However, last week through a phone call, Trump shared his resistance on coming to the country.
He feared he would face protests and criticism from the British people. Since BREXIT is currently underway, some thought it would be a good idea to link ties with Trump and strengthen the two countries relationship.
The cancelation comes as a shock to some and a relief to others. But, since the latest terror attacks, the London Fire and the recent shock election result, one thinks Britain has a lot more to worry about than Trump.
