I’ve seen every episode from the 1990’s series “Beverly Hills 90210” more times than I can count. I loved the chemistry between the cast members and the storylines kept me glued to my seat. My favorite person on that show was Jason Priestley (AKA Brandon Walsh). He was incredibly hot, and I loved him and Jennie Garth (AKA Kelly Taylor) together on the show.
When I found out he was going to be having a memoir out in May, I said “I gotta get it!” Imagine my surprise when I found out he was going to be at a book signing in NYC for his new memoir. You can bet your bottom dollar that I was going to be in attendance.
The book signing took place at the Tribeca Barnes and Noble on May 6th. Before I got to the Barnes and Noble, I was going over in my head what I would say to him. I wanted to say something original to him, but my mind was drawing a blank for some reason.
I bought his book when I got to the bookstore, and then I proceeded to wait on a very long line. Or at least it seemed long to me. I felt bad for the people who came like 10 minutes after me because the line kept getting much longer as the minutes ticked by. While I was waiting in line I noticed some people were reading his book, and some people were talking about how hot Priestley was. One woman near me said that Priestley had aged really well, and I couldn’t agree more. I saw a couple of recent photos of him, and he still looked amazing.
At around 5:40 p.m., Priestley walked by me and walked into the waiting room where all the celebrities go before they come out to sign people’s books. They do interviews in that room. Sure, I wasn’t near the front of the line, but I got a better view of Priestley when he came in than they did. I apologize for the quality of this photo, but you can see Priestley entering the waiting room. He’s standing next to the woman with the red hair.
Priestley came out of the room a few minutes after 6 pm, and I’m not sure if I even blinked my eyes as I saw him walk across the stage to where he would be sitting and signing books. He looked incredibly hot in person, and I along with nearly everyone in line had a hard time taking our eyes off him. He didn’t say too much on stage before he sat in his seat. I apologize for the quality of some of the photos that you will be seeing.
The first person whose book he signed was this woman with a small child. I immediately noticed how sweet Priestley was with her kid. You can tell he’s an amazing dad.
Priestley was amazing with everyone in line. He was very happy to engage in conversation wit you, and he had no problem taking a photo retake if you blinked your eyes.
I waited in line for about 40 minutes before I had a chance to meet him. I was so happy when I was the next person in line!
When it was finally my turn to see him I asked him what he missed the most about being on “Beverly Hills 90210.” He said he missed the camaraderie with the cast and also the crew. It wasn’t the most original question, but when I saw his face I couldn’t really think about anything else other than “OMG! He’s so hot!” After I got a photo with him (I didn’t blink so I didn’t need a retake) I went about my way.
I had a chance to read his book on the train home to New Jersey and then I also read it the rest of the night. The book has a very conversational style, and I couldn’t put it down. It covers everything from his upbringing in Canada to car racing to his time on “Beverly Hills 90210” to his love life to what Brad Pitt gave him that still sits on his bookshelf to this day, and more! I love Priestley’s sense of humor, and I also love that each chapter has a zip code in the title. Did I mention the really nice photos of moments from Priestley’s life that were in the book? If you’re a fan of him you are sure to love this book!
