Unfortunately, not everything following Monday night’s OVO Festival ended in celebration. At the official after party for the festival, two people were shot and killed, while three others were wounded. It has not yet been reported whether or not Drake was present during the shooting or what caused the incident to erupt.
The shooting reportedly started inside the Muzik nightclub where the after party was being hosted and eventually ended up on the streets, not far from where the festival was held.
The two victims that were killed were a man and a woman either in their 20’s or 30’s, but no further information has been revealed about them or the other victims that may have been involved. Despite the heavy police presence in the area Monday night, the police are now investigating a homicide case.
Toronto Police Superintendent Frank Bergen said he believed the police did a good job Monday night despite the incident, considering it happened at around 3:30 AM when the event was ending.
“At this point we do know for certain that one or two [shootings] were in the nightclub and we believe the others were outside of that area. This is all unfolding now and we’re doing our investigation,” he continued.
More information regarding the shootings will be revealed as the investigation continues to unfold.
