The University Of Virginia adopted a zero tolerance policy on rape cases on their campus.
UVA’s governing board held an emergency meeting Tuesday as the University scrambled to handle the aftermath of a Rolling Stone article that detailed a horrific gang rape of a student at a fraternity two years ago and that highlighted a trend of indifference toward victims. Some question the meeting and why did they do this so quickly? Some even think that UVA is hiding something.
For those who haven’t heard the story, two years ago a young lady by the name of Jackie went into a fraternity party. The next thing she knew she was involved in a horrific gang rape. She asked her friends to take her to the hospital but her friends said: Are you sure you want to do that? They also stated that her reputation would be shot and she will be known as the girl who cried rape.
Two years later, Jackie is still worried about her what would other students think about her. Many people stated to her: “UVA has flown under the radar for so long, someone has to say something about it, or else it’s gonna be this system that keeps perpetuating!” Jackie was shocked at the fact that no one wanted to help her. It seems like the entire University wanted the situation to be swept under the rug.
The University of Virginia is indeed hiding something with this allegation. They think that they are above the law. Rape is wrong!
The University is being investigated on the matter. They apologized to the victim Jackie for failing to protect her. They also banned fraternities parties until January.
