Ciara is not happy with Us Weekly. She accused the magazine of “manipulating her words” and spreading false information regarding her relationship with her ex-fiance, Future.
Allegedly, Ciara and Future have called of their engagement and ended their relationship due to Future’s infidelity while on tour.
The headline for her interview with Us Weekly read “Ciara Talks About Motherhood and Life After Future Split”. Well, Ciara took to Twitter to set the record straight about her interview, and stated that it was a lie. She tweeted: “@usweekly I did not do this interview with you! This is a lie, and tasteless! Must you be that thirsty to create a story?! Unbelievable! U manipulated my words & took the interview for sensation…As I Said, Thirsty!” During the interview, Ciara was asked about motherhood and music ventures. She replied: “I want to be one of those moms and women that when I look back I know that I always stay focused. It’s about keeping your eyes on the prize. Before I had a child, I had goals. And I still have to accomplish those goals, but now that I have a child I have more goals to accomplish. So I can’t waste time. I have to go for it. It actually pushed me harder, and forward.”
Ciara recanted her angry rant to Us weekly, and tweeted an explanation for her statement: “Be CLEAR @usweekly. I interviewed with your Beauty Editor about Degree & Mtv HOS. U manipulated my words & took the interview for sensation”.
Us Weekly hasn’t updated or removed their story on Ciara. However, they have released an audio clip of Ciara’s interview to prove that she did attend the interview, and they did not “manipulate” or change her words. Us Weekly wrote “Ciara indeed gave an extended interview with an Us reporter at an L.A. event on Tuesday, Aug. 12. During the chat, she spoke at length about her fashion, her fitness routines, her music, her upcoming MTV House of Style episode and being a brand-new mom to baby boy Future Zahir Wilburn, among other topics”.
