Warren Sapp is in the news. This time it’s not great news.
Sapp was arrested for assault and soliciting two prostitutes on Monday. The Hall of Famer, in Arizona to cover the Super Bowl for NFL Network, was taken into custody in Phoenix at approximately 7 a.m. According to reports, two women hired “as escorts” went to Sapp’s hotel room, where an argument erupted over money. At one point, things escalated into a physical altercation, and the women were injured.
The two prostitutes were given citations and were released.
Sapp competed on “Dancing with the Stars” in 2008, paired with professional dancer Kym Johnson. He’s recently been working as an analyst for NFL Network. Sapp starred on defense for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Oakland Raiders from 1995 to 2007. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2013.
He was arrested in 2010 and charged with domestic battery while covering that year’s Super Bowl in Miami. Those charges were later dropped, but Sapp was charged with domestic violence again in 2014.
