New York has always been a fast-paced place to live. But at 8:19 pm on Friday and Saturday night, everyone will stop.
Manhattanhenge is coming! To those who don’t know what Manhattanhenge is, it’s a phenomenon where the setting sun aligns precisely with Manhattan’s east-west streets, creating a beautiful sight.
Friday and Saturday are two of four days each year when the setting sun aligns precisely with Manhattan’s east-west streets, framing the glowing orb between the city’s steel and brick canyons. The other two days are July 12th and July 13th.
Here are the places to see the rare sight:14th, 23rd, 34th, 42nd and 57th streets. To see an even better look, you can go to the east side of Manhattan to get the full urban-canyon effect.
