William Shatner has some explaining to do.
After the death of his long time friend Leonard Nimoy, Shatner took to Twitter to discuss the controversy. He stated that the reason that he missed the funeral is because he had a prior commitment. He tweeted: I chose to honor a commitment I made months ago to appear at a charitable fundraiser. A lot of money was raised. So here I am; tell me off.”
Shatner attended the 58th International Red Cross Ball at Donald Trump’s The Mar-a-Lago Club in Palm Beach, Fla. on Saturday night.
Shatner has been under fire for not attending Nimoy’s funeral. While he was only there in spirit, he said that both his daughters attended Nimoy’s funeral on Sunday.
Nimoy passed away on February 27th. He was best known for his role as Spock in the original Star Trek TV show. Shatner played the role of Captain James T. Kirk.
