Whoopi Goldberg has been defending Bill Cosby since he was publicly accused of raping multiple women. One woman who thinks lowly of Goldberg’s defense is Lili Bernard, one of the women who accused Cosby. She had quite a bit to say about Goldberg’s claim on The View that Cosby is “innocent until proven guilty.”
Overall, Bernard has respect for Goldberg. However, she says that her claims against Cosby are true, and what Goldberg is saying is “bull.” This is timely because Goldberg used that word to describe the way people are treating her because she defends Cosby.
Bernard was in an episode of The Cosby Show during its last season. During that time, she says she was “drugged, raped, and threatened by Cosby” while they went over her role. She played a pregnant woman named Mrs. Minifield.
“He met with me under the pretense of meeting with producers who would further my career,” Bernard recalls. She says he then “slipped drugs into [her] blood” and raped her.
She also mentions that the last time she ever saw Cosby, it was at the studio for The Cosby Show in 1992. He cornered her and told her, “As far as I’m concerned, Bernard, you’re dead… You don’t exist. I never wanna see your face again.” Reportedly, Bernard saw that as a real death threat, and she became very afraid for her life.
Our thoughts are with Bernard as she processes these difficult memories.
