We have so much respect for Zendaya. Not only does she stand up for others, but she also knows how to stand up for herself and for her choices. That’s pretty impressive for an 18-year-old!
At Sunday’s BET Awards the Disney Channel actress arrived in an adorable sparkly, short dress with a pixie cut. She was clearly rocking the look, but some took to social media to criticize her hairstyle.
Zendaya responded to the haters with grace, as she always does, by tweeting, “When people don’t like your hair but they tweetin bout you tho….. #idgaf #idgaf,” followed by two selfies.
One of the selfies shows a pout and the other is a silly face, with her tongue sticking out, but both images say the same thing: Zendaya is rocking her look and she doesn’t care about critics’ negativity.
Although the pixie cut is a seemingly 180-degree turn from her normally long tresses, this isn’t the first time that the “Replay” singer has received (and promptly responded to) criticism about her hair.
Back in February, Fashion Police host Guiliana Rancic criticized Zendaya’s locs from the Academy Awards saying, “I feel like she smells like patchouli oil…or weed.” However, the classy artist responded with a long post on Instagram where she dismissed the offensive comments and the stereotypes that Rancic was perpetuating.
The singer just graduated from Oak Park High School in California and so far she’s looking fabulous and handling ‘the real world’ like a pro!
