Words of Advice: If you want to join Facebook, make sure that you were born after 1905. 113-year-old Anna Stoehr from Minnesota found this out the hard way. According to an interview Stoehr did with news station KARE 11, Stoehr became interested in social media after being introduced to Verizon sales rep Joseph Ramireza through her 85-year-old son. Ramireza started to teach Stoehr how to FaceTime, send emails, and then decided to take her talents to Facebook. Upon the creation of her account, Stoehr noticed her birth year was not available, so she is now listed as being only 99-years-old on Facebook.
It truly is amazing the curiosity some people have at that age and great that Stoehr has decided conform to the pressures of social media as so many others have. Ramireza even helped Stoehr write a letter on a typewriter to Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg saying “I’m still here.” We wish Anna Stoehr the best of luck and a fun-filled birthday as she turns 114 on Sunday.
