Famous actor Irwin Keyes died Wednesday at the age of 63, at his home in Playa Del Rey, California. Keyes died of acromegaly, which is a rare pituitary gland disorder, according to his manager Phil Brock. The new york native was in a rehabilitation center for the past few months, but it seems condition did not improve. Keyes has a wife, Tracy Fontaine.
Keyes was well known for his roles on The Jeffersons, Intolerable Cruelty, and many roles as a villain in horror films including House of 1000 Corpses. The star actor had many successful hits for over 40 years, including television series like Laverne & Shirley, Married with Children, Growing Pains, and CSI. He’s also been in many movie films such as Friday the 13th, The Flintstones, and The Flintstones in Viva Rock Vegas.
Even though Keyes was portrayed through roles as a big intimidating person, Brock stated that, “People would look at him and be instantly afraid of him and then they would meet him talk to him and instantly love him. He would play villains, but he had the kindest heart of all.”
