Stand-up comedian John Pinette, who was best known as the guy who got mugged while everyone watched in the Seinfeld finale, has died at age 50. He was found in his hotel room in Pittsburg on Saturday.

Upon medical examination it was discovered that he had died in his Sheraton Hotel room at around 2:30pm, and that it was not foul play. An autopsy was not conducted because his physician told examiners that he had heart disease as well as liver disease. Pulmonary embolism was the official cause of death. Last August he checked into a rehabilitation center for an addiction to prescription pills.

Remembering some things about him: he toured with Frank Sinatra, he did great impressions of famous characters including the Chipmunks, Elvis, Gollum and more, and has received numerous awards for his comedy.
