Shailene Woodly is no stranger to starring in movie adaptations of books. She is set to be in two of the most anticipated book-to-film movies this year: Divergent and The Fault in Our Stars. The actress is not a fan of sparkly vampires, it seems.
In the April issue of Teen Vogue, she voices her opinions as to how the series is detrimental to youthful generations.
“Twilight,’ I’m sorry, is about a very unhealthy, toxic relationship,” she says and adds, “she falls in love with this guy and the second he leaves her, her life is over and she’s going to kill herself! What message are we sending to young people? That is not going to help this world evolve.” Not many celebrities have said much about the series but there are jokes about it all over the internet. There might have been a huge craze surrounding it, a phenomena like no other, but people began to say that it was a bad book and I’m guessing Woodley would agree.
Notoriously on the Internet on websites like Tumblr, the running joke is that, “no one hates Twilight more than Robert Pattinson (the lead actor) hates Twilight.” That may be true but Shailene might give him a run for his money.
