In a blog post on Thursday, Bristol Palin, daughter of former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, wrote that she is pregnant with her second child. Her son, Tripp, is six years old, and Palin gave birth to him when she was eighteen. While many would be overjoyed at this news, Palin feels almost the opposite way.
“Honestly, I’ve been trying my hardest to keep my chin up on this one,” she wrote. The former Dancing with the Stars contestant also wrote that her new pregnancy “has been, and will be, a huge disappointment to my family, my close friends, and to many of you.” While it is understandable that Palin would be afraid to have another baby without, presumably, a present father, it seems like she is placing a burden on an innocent, unborn child. Palin might be disappointed in herself and think that her behavior was a mistake, but that doesn’t mean her new baby is.
The news comes one month after Palin broke off her engagement to Medal of Honor recipient Dakota Meyer. In the blog post, however, she did not specify the name of the child’s father.
We wish Palin the best of luck in the coming months.
