Looks like The View bumped it’s original co-creator out of it’s lineup.
According to reports, Barbara Walters wanted to appear on the live broadcast of the season premiere of The View last week but the network executives nixed the idea. Instead, she only showed up in a taped segment of the show.
Sources say Walters’ taped segment, in which she dons a crown while in a throne as the panelists including new hosts Rosie Perez and Nicolle Wallace and returning host Rosie O’Donnell kiss her hand, was a Plan B.
Walters stated that she also was advised by the ABC executives not to appear on their rival’s NBC Today as a special guest host.
The View has received a rating boost thanks to the controversial Rosie O’Donnell. The show is currently in it’s 18th season.
Walters was the executive producer and co-creator of The View. She stepped down from the show last season.
