Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert, who recently announced their divorce, came together on Twitter to help out a friend.
On Friday, just four days after the pair announced their split, the pair tweeted out to promote their friend and fellow country singer, Ashley Monroe’s new album The Blade.
“Hey @mirandalambert can u believe there’s still people who haven’t bought @ashleymonroe new album?” Shelton tweeted to Lambert. “Isn’t that shocking?!!”
“@blakeshelton no I can’t because it is the best work she has ever done!” Lambert replied 3 minutes later. “I love it! We love you @ashleymonroe.”
“Yes we do!!” Shelton wrote.
28-year-old Monroe responded to both of them.
“Awwww THANKS GUYS,” she wrote. “Love you both.”
While the newly split couple appears to be on great terms, on fan is not so convinced, believing the exchange to be pre-planned.
Shelton, 39, tweeted back denying the accusation, saying, “Nope…not at all buddy.”
The conversation then started to get a little bizarre.
Lambert tweeted out a link to a screenshot of Shelton out with a friend, pushing a baby stroller with a pink blanket.
“I knew it…You WERE pregnant! She tweeted along with the photo. “This calls for a drink!”
“Ha!!!!! Busted…” Shelton replied. “I wasn’t JUST a fat ass. Drinking sha;; now begin…”
Another fan was not buying the jokes.
“Losing respect because of this whole charade,” the fan tweeted Shelton.
“Well rest assured not one sh*t is given…” Shelton fired back.
While the two have every right to joke with each other and post what they please on social media, fans do bring up a point. For a couple who just announced their divorce, these two seem to be as goofy and loving as ever…Weird.
But Shelton, who is currently in Los Angeles, California filming for his show, The Voice, is not going to let the judgments of others affect him or his former spouse.
The two were married in 2011 after meeting in 2005. Shelton filed for divorce earlier this month.
The two released a statement announcing their split earlier this month, “This is not the future we envisioned and it is with heavy hearts that we move forward separately.”
