Basketball player, Malcolm Ausbon is suing Chris Brown for $250,000 compensation for physical and emotional injuries that took place during a fight at a Los Angeles gym, in July last year. Chris isn’t going down without a fight, no pun intended. He decided to counter-sue Ausbon.
Chris claimed that Ausbon knew he had nothing to do with the fight, and threatened to tell authorities that Chris started it, unless he gave him money. Chris’ lawyer, Mark Geragos, claimed that Ausbon’s lawyers promised to keep things a secret if his client received compensation. I find that very hard to believe. Geragos said “Mr. Ausbon is placed in a position by the LAPD where he needs to decide whether he will press charges for aggravated assault and battery. However, Mr. Ausbon prefers not to resort to filing these claims or the lawsuit. He would rather be compensated.”
Chris has admitted he violated his probation, and has been sentenced to serve an additional 131 days in jail. However he stated that he did not commit assault on anyone. Geragos told Superior Court Judge James R. Brandlin that “it was more likely than not that the 25-year-old star had committed the violation but said there is no way a D.C. judge could use it to nail him for the assault charges.”
