HBO’s True Detective has finally found a star to play the lead role in Season Two.
Colin Farrell will star in Season Two of the critically acclaimed drama True Detective. He stated that his character will be named Ray Velcaro who has been “damaged by years of trauma in both his personal and professional lives.”
Reportedly, Vince Vaughn is eying the role of Frank Semyon, “a former thug-turned-businessman, who’s wheeling and dealing gets him into some sticky situations.” To add even more intrigue, Rachel McAdams and Elizabeth Moss are up for the same role.
The show will take place in California in three different cities in California. The plot of the new season is “a vicious murder of a corrupt businessman found dead the night before he completes a deal.”
Season Two is expected to start filming in the coming months. Season one starting Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey received positive reviews. McConaughey has won the Critics’ Choice Television Award for Best Actor in a Drama Series, and has been nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series for his role as Rustin Cohle.
Season Two is expected to premiere in June 2015.
