So you don’t want to pay $99.95 to watch a pay-per-view of the fight between Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather? Then you have another option – movie theaters.
Fathom Events and Mayweather Productions have announced that the fight between Mayweather and McGregor will be screened live at movie theaters around the country. The fight is set to take place at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on August 26.
Tickets are being sold for the screening in advance for $40.
“Mayweather Promotions is very proud of its longstanding partnership with Fathom Events and we’re glad to be able to once again bring a Floyd Mayweather fight to movie theatres nationwide,” said Leonard Ellerbe, the CEO of Mayweather Promotions.
This isn’t the first time that Mayweather’s fights have been shown in cinemas, with many of his victories shown throughout the years.
“Since our first bout broadcast to cinemas, fans of boxing and MMA have come together and enjoyed a larger-than-life ring-side experience on the biggest screens around. This will certainly be one for the history books for fans and all involved,” said Fathom Events vice president of programming Kymberli Frueh.
“The buzz that my fight against Conor McGregor is getting has been great already, so what better way to watch this larger-than-life event than on the big screen?” Mayweather said in a statement.
