Marvel fans, prepare to geek out. On Wednesday morning, the cast of the new Deadpool film tweeted announcements about their appearances at the San Diego Comic Con. But Deadpool is the, um, quirkiest of the superheroes. What better way to honor him than by announcing the actors’ appearance through song?
That song, specifically, was a theme song. Weirder still, it was the theme song to The Golden Girls, which is Deadpool’s favorite show. Ryan Reynolds, who plays Deadpool himself, tweeted, “Hey, #SDCC, Thank you for being a friend.” It was accompanied by a picture of Deadpool in sombrero, poncho, and a cardboard sign reading, “Comic-Con por favor.” The rest of the cast, including Gina Carano and T.J. Miller, tweeted similar pictures and lyrics to the song in order. It was a classic, Deadpool-style move. We love it!
Deadpool comes to theaters on February 12, 2016. If you love action heroes with dark, twisted senses of humor, the film is right for you.
