Chris Brown is currently on a press run for his joint album with Tyga, Fan of a Fan, and the two are also touring with Trey Songz for the Between the Sheets tour.
Inevitably, Drake’s name has come up during some interviews, especially since Tyga is apparently beefing with the Canadian rapper too.
In a recent interview with Hot 97, Brown was adamant about the fact that he refuses to give Drake any more free publicity by taking about him, yet proceeded to do an impression of the rapper that was clearly intended to be offensive.
MTV News reports that, apparently, the comments reached Drake, and he wasn’t too pleased. He didn’t address Brown directly, but he did change some lyrics to “Energy,” a song from his new mixtape If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late, during a performance in New Zealand Monday night (Feb. 23).
“R&B n—as that I gotta act like I like/ But my actin’ days are over, f–k them n—as for life, boy,” he rapped, using “R&B” instead of “Rap,” which is what he originally wrote in the track.
The artists haven’t been on the greatest terms over the past couple of years, especially since Drake was linked to Brown’s ex-girlfriend Rihanna at one point.
If you ask me, they’re both way too talented to be fighting all the time. Everyone would be much better off if they would just head into the studio together and make a hit.
