It was only a matter of time before Drake responded to Jay Z’s diss track on the “We Made It Remix” feat Jay Electronica. As expected, Drake fired back at Jay Z on his newly released single called “Draft Day”.
In case you’re out of the loop, the whole “Drake vs Jay Z” saga has been going on for some time. During a interview with Rolling Stone magazine, Drake stated “It’s like Hov can’t drop a bar these days without at least four art references. I would love to collect [art] at some point, but I think the whole rap/art world thing is getting kind of corny”. Jay Z, who isn’t known for ignoring any insults regarding himself or his family, replied to Drake on the recent song “We Made It Remix” feat Jay Electronic. He said “Sorry Mrs. Drizzy for so much art talk/ Silly me rapping about s–t that I really bought.” For a while, fans thought Drake would not respond but that didn’t happen. He fired back on “Draft Day” and said “I heard they talking crazy, I was out of town/ You know they love to pop all that s–t when I’m not around/ But when I’m here, psst, not a sound/ That’ll make me snap, jot it down, get in the booth and lay a body down”.
That isn’t the only thing Drake mentioned in his new single. He also gave a shout out to his celebrity crush, Jennifer Lawrence! “On some Hunger Games s–t, I would die for my district/ Jennifer Lawrence you could really get it/ I mean, for real girl, you know I had to do it for ya”.
Fans are anxiously awaiting for Jay Z’s reply. Until then listen to Drake’s new single “Draft Day” HERE. Something tells me that this “beef” is far from over.
