When most people think of Dwayne Johnson, usually they think of him as an actor, or maybe as a wrestler or a football player.
They don’t call him Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson for nothing. Let’s be honest, we all see those muscles. However, on Thursday May 21, Johnson gained a new title and it had absolutely nothing to do with his brawn.
Dwayne Johnson now holds the record for the “Most Selfies (or ‘self-portraits’) Taken in Three Minutes.”
The record was broken on the red carpet at the London premiere of his new film San Andreas, where Johnson took 105 selfies in those three minutes!
In fact, he took more than 105 selfies if we include the ones that got disqualified.
Yes, you read that right. There are rules! An adjudicator for Guinness World Records was at the event, making sure that the subject of the photo always had a fully visible face and neck, while also checking to make sure that the final photos were focused and not blurry.
To celebrate his achievement, Johnson went to Instagram and posted a video with the caption “We just set a NEW GUINNESS WORLD RECORD for most self-portraits (selfies) taken in record time (yup, a selfie world record exists and your arm gets a helluva workout).”
Congratulations, to the new selfie-king!
