Fleetwood Mac’s keyboardist and singer, Christine McVie, who quit the band after 30 years in 1998 announced that she is planning to return for a reunion tour. Stevie Nicks told Rolling Stone about a year ago that there was, “more of a chance of an asteroid hitting the Earth” than McVie rejoining.
Their world tour will begin in September and they will be visiting famous arenas like New York’s own Madison Square Garden. The tour, titled On With the Show, will span across 33 cities across North America for 34 shows. Tickets go on sale Monday, April 7th through the Live Nation website but there are American Express pre-sales that will begin the 6th.
McVie said that her reason for leaving the band was that she, “had some deluded idea that [she] wanted to live the ‘country lady’ life.” She also added, “I went through a divorce and I felt isolated in the country. I grew quite ill and depressed.”
Songs like “Little Lies,” “You Make Loving Fun,” “Everywhere” and others that they weren’t able to play without her for the past few years, will now probably be added to the setlist. It’ll be quite the show to watch.
