Forbes released the list that we’ve all been waiting for; the top 5 wealthiest artists in the hip hop scene.

Mr. Bad Boy Puff, well Diddy, I mean Sean took the lead again with an estimated net worth of $700 million dollars. That’s a high jump from his net worth of $580 last year. Believe it or not, each name that I’ve mentioned is worth something.

Dr. Dre came easing his way past Jay Z this time around and landed in the 2nd place slot with $550 million. Roc-A-Feller’s own is named third wealthiest with an estimated amount of $520 million. I know most of you are as astonished as I am. You would have thought Jigga would be 2nd again after Diddy. Guess Jay should have come out with some headphones. (LOL)

After Jay, we have Young Money Cash Money Billionaires CEO Birdman with a whopping $160 million. It is noted that his earnings would have increased if he did not have to share it with his brother and also CEO of YMCMB . Last, but not least on the list is 50 Cent who owes his earnings (and his promotion to top 5 this year) to his Vitamin Water drink back in 2007. His total earnings for the past year is $140 million.

Forbes research is done to the best of their knowledge with the help of the named celebrities. More information about the list will be published in the May 5th 2014 issue of Forbes Magazine
