Number 23 of The Golden State Warriors Draymond Green, was allegedly arrested for assault at 2:28 am July 10, 2016 in Michigan. Green is expected to be arraigned by July 20, though authorities aren’t confirming an arrest with anyone under that name. According to Lt. Scott Wrigglesworth of the East Lansing Police Department;
“The police department is not confirming any arrest with that name…What I can confirm is that we did arrest a current NBA basketball player this weekend and he was arrested for assault. That’s all we’re confirming right now.” – Lt. Scott Wrigglesworth
An legal document titled Register of Action City of East Lansing vs. Green Draymond, Jamal was made available online, which blatantly states Draymond Greens name and address on the document of his arrest. He was released on a $200.00 cash bail reportedly from the document. No official statements were given providing details of the incident earlier, but we have found out the assault began in Conrad’s Grill. Conrad’s is a place Green seems to have frequented since he was in college, General Manager Chris Sonie stated. Reportedly Green slapped a fan that was taunting him sources say. The victim who was assaulted was a male and was not injured. He is unidentified as of. Lt. Wrigglesworth would not give details surrounding the altercation.
“No one saw what happened….He came in and ordered food and took off.” – General Manager Chris Sonie
The Warriors released a statement Monday saying:
“We are aware of news involving Draymond Green in Michigan over the weekend. At this point, we are collecting information and will have no further comment until we have a better understanding of the situation.”
Draymond Green is the player if you remember that helped lead the Warriors to the NBA Finals and the one who was suspended in Game 5 for having too many “technical fouls” in Game 4, but the media and the incident with Lebron James made it seem as if he got suspended because of that. Draymond has a five year contract with the Warriors worth $85 million.
